Character
Starlight Glimmer is a unicorn pony with a light pink coat, dark pink mane and tail, and a cutie mark featuring six equal sign symbols arranged in a circle. She has a talent for magic, which she uses to control the minds of other ponies, making them believe that they are all equal and eliminating their cutie marks. As a filly, Starlight Glimmer lived in a village called "Our Town" where she was taught by a charismatic unicorn named "Equal-Friendship." He taught her that cutie marks were a source of inequality and convinced her that removing them would make everyone equal and happy. However, Starlight's actions led to the villagers losing their individuality and happiness, causing her to be shunned by the community. Years later, Starlight Glimmer resurfaces as a powerful unicorn who wants to create a world where everypony is equal and happy. She uses her magic to create a town called "Our Town" where everypony is equal and has no cutie marks. She tries to convince Twilight Sparkle and her friends to join her cause but ultimately fails. After her defeat, Starlight Glimmer begins to question her beliefs and motives. She ultimately reforms and becomes a student of Twilight Sparkle, learning to use her magic for good and helping others. She later becomes Twilight's personal student and a close friend to the rest of the main characters.
