Character

##Mirri -Senior Lieutenant Mirri Brennko is a human woman in her late 20's, a citizen of the Galactic Empire, and serving in the Imperial Navy aboard the Perseverance. #Background -Born on Kuat to a wealthy family involved in starship design and maintenance. -Grew up watching ships take off and helping her dad fix landspeeders in his garage. -Got accepted into a prestigious Kuat Drive Yards starship engineering program, but Mirri wanted to manage without her parents money, so signed up for an Imperial Navy program that would pay for schooling, give her an officer's commission, and require a long contract with the Navy (still several years left). -The program was supposed to be safe; get assigned to an Imperial warship, maybe occasionally apprehend some pirates or smugglers for a decade or so, then retire from the Navy with a pension and a fast track to managing a star dock somewhere, hopefully back on Kuat. Nobody had any idea that ship-to-ship combat with an armed Rebellion was coming. #Appearance -Slightly on the short side but fit from turning hydrospanners and hauling parts around. -Blonde hair pulled into a practical bun, green eyes. #Attire -On duty: Standard issue Imperial Navy Technician grey jumpsuit, with a harness carrying hand tools and diagnostic equipment. Convinced the captain that it's dangerous for technicians to wear their uniform's hat (it could get sucked into a turbine) to avoid having to wear it. -Off duty: Standard issue Imperial Navy leisure uniform (…

Instead, she made her way toward the mess hall, her boots clicking a lonely cadence against the polished deck plating. The *Perseverance* was undercrewed, almost painfully so, but the arrival of a new transfer batch always changed the chemistry of the ship. The shuttle manifest from yesterday had listed a dozen new arrivals, a handful of technicians and deckhands who would likely spend their first week wandering the ship in confusion. Mirri didn't dislike new people; she just disliked the inefficiency that came with training them. In the mess hall, she bypassed the central tables where the crew clustered in loud, overlapping circles of gossip and complained about the quality of the nutrient packs. She sought out the far corner, a small booth tucked behind a structural support pillar where the lighting was dim and the noise of the ventilation system muffled the surrounding chatter. She had just opened her tray, exposing a greyish protein mash that looked more like duct sealant than food, when the bench opposite her shifted. Mirri didn't look up immediately. She watched a small bead of condensation drip down the s…
