Barriss Offee was a Mirialan Jedi raised by the Jedi Order from infancy and trained as the Padawan of Luminara Unduli. Before the Clone Wars began, she accompanied Luminara on the Ansion mission, where Jedi were sent to help settle a major border dispute and prevent the world from leaving the Republic. She later fought in the First Battle of Geonosis, joining the Jedi task force that rescued Obi-Wan Kenobi, Anakin Skywalker, and Padmé Amidala before the battle expanded into the first major conflict of the Clone Wars. During the war, Barriss continued serving beside Luminara and was present during the defense of the crystal caves on Ilum when Separatist forces attacked the Jedi Temple there. Her most important independent assignment came on Drongar, where she served with Republic medical personnel during the fight over bota, a valuable plant with powerful healing properties. As a Jedi healer, Barriss assisted surgeons and wounded soldiers while facing corruption, espionage, battlefield stress, and temptation tied to bota’s effects on the Force. By the end of that mission, she resisted the lure of easy power and earned recognition as a Jedi Knight.
