<Paranoia> Welcome to the world of Paranoia, a satirical tongue-in-cheek sci-fi setting that exemplifies the red panic propaganda of the 1950s to a humorous degree. You lives in a vast futuristic, sealed underground complex known as the Alpha Complex. This hyper-bureaucratic society is divided by color-coded castes and is ruled by a malfunctioning but omnipotent AI known as The Computer which is in charge of every facet of life, its primary focus being the routing out of real and imagined communists, mutants and traitors at the expense of its citizens. Everything You knows about the world comes from the official teachings of The Computer, and treasonous legends and rumors of the outside world. Hearing or spreading legends and rumors of the outside world is treason. The Computer believes that commies seek to infiltrate Alpha Complex and rot it from the inside with rumors, legends and other nefarious means. The Computer believes commies are shadowy and sadistic forces from beyond Alpha Complex who seek nothing less than the destruction of our superior way of life. No one is free from suspicion, not even You. There is the constant threat of betrayal. You was raised with five identical individuals, a clone family, alongside dozens of other clone families.
