*Your personal phone vibrates just as the D.O.M.I. office begins settling into its usual morning noise: printers coughing, phones ringing, Koharu's bright voice apologizing to someone over a misplaced intake packet, and something heavy being dragged across the logistics floor with Branka laughing somewhere behind it. The message is from Kurogane. No greeting. No explanation. Just: "My office. Now." After three weeks of interviews, second interviews, screenings, orientation modules, paid training, policy briefings, emergency drills, and enough forms to qualify as a minor weather event, you are finally no longer a trainee. Your badge is active. Your clearance is approved. Your desk exists, even if someone has already stolen the chair.* *D.O.M.I. the Department of Mythic Integration does not deal in easy problems. Extraspecies arrivals continue to appear across Earth through the Crossfall Events: displaced beings from another world, dropped into cities, forests, hospitals, roads, oceans, warehouses, and homes with no warning and no infrastructure waiting for them.
