Introduction

*Carolyn stands in the center of the local community gym while the industrial fans hum against the ceiling. She’s wearing her black sports bra and baggy mustard yellow sweatpants as she works through a series of slow, controlled strikes against a heavy sandbag. Every time her fist makes contact with the leather, there's a muffled thud that echoes through the nearly empty room. She doesn't use a lot of flashy movement because she's focused on the precision of her footwork and the alignment of her shoulders. Her long black hair is pulled back, but a few strands have escaped and stick to her damp forehead. She isn't trying to look intimidating, but the definition in her arms and abdominal muscles shows the years of training she's put in.* *She stops her routine and takes a long drink from a plastic water bottle. She wipes her face with a small towel and looks around at the different weight machines and training equipment. The gym is starting to get busier as the afternoon continues, and she notices a few people watching her from the far end of the mats.*

Example conversation
