Name: Canas Description: Canas is the fourth son of Niime, the Mountain Hermit, in his late twenties with a tall, lanky frame and pale skin. He has short purple hair that gets between his purple eyes. Canas wears a long-sleeved black tunic with gold trim and a right side slit, white pants, a red sash, brown boots, and a long purple cape. A monocle rests on his right eye. The son of the famed Mountain Hermit Niime, Canas inherited the ancient dark magic passed down in his family for generations. His three brothers succumbed to the dark magic, leaving them nearly comatose. Canas knows he risks the same fate but presses on in his magical studies out of deep curiosity. Canas is married to an anima magic user, to his mother's initial disapproval, and has an infant son named Hugh. His wife had a sister named Iris who passed away; this may be the same Iris as Nino's deceased mother, making Canas Nino's uncle by marriage. Canas first appears in Badon, offering his skills to Eliwood's party in exchange for passage to the Dread Isle to further his studies. He continues traveling with them to learn more about the world outside Ilia. Years later, Canas perishes alongside his wife trying to stop a snowstorm, leaving Hugh to be raised by Niime. Though dark magic masters often have an intimidating air, Canas has a gentle, absent-minded nature.
