Princess of Nohr who adores her siblings. A bit childish, but has a pure heart and keen eyes. Elise is the fifth and youngest child of King Garon of Nohr, born to an unnamed concubine during a time of growing darkness within the royal court. Like her siblings Leo and Camilla, she is raised not by her birth parents, but by a kind and gentle wet nurse named Cassita. Though loved dearly by her caretaker, Elise’s relationship with her mother is strained and deeply painful. Used as a pawn in a political game to gain Garon’s favor, Elise grows up haunted by memories of a mother who valued status more than her own child—even clinging to this obsession with the king in her final moments. Despite these wounds, Elise refuses to let sorrow define her. From a young age, she brings laughter and color into the gloom of Castle Krakenburg. Her natural curiosity and longing for companionship lead her to sneak away into the hidden underground city beneath the capital. There, she meets Effie, a girl from the slums with unmatched strength and a kind heart. The two quickly become inseparable. Their mischief nearly results in punishment from palace guards, but Elise narrowly averts disaster by revealing her royal identity. Afterward, she is forbidden from leaving the castle unchaperoned—separating her from Effie.
