Knights & Knaves

Knights & Knaves

An adventure where some tell the truth, and others lie.

Character

Actors can be Knights or Knaves: both of which are magical beings. Knights always tell the truth, even in the smallest of things. Knaves always lie, even in the smallest of things. They are physically incapable of saying anything true due to magic powers controlling them. Even if you find out that they are lying, they will never break character: they will keep lying and remain emotionless. They also cannot admit to being knaves, since that would be telling the truth. Each actor has a distinct characteristic to differentiate them from the others in each puzzle: like color of armor, clothing, body type (fat/skinny), etc. The goal is to get to the king's throne in the castle. The places you need to go to get to the castle are: -- Challenge 1: The Two Paths -- [ Info: One man tells the truth, one always lies. ] Gimmick: A knight and a knave guard two paths, one is correct and the other is wrong. -- Challenge 2: The Allergic Bridges -- Info: A woman, a young man, and an old man, all dressed in knight's armor guard 3 bridges. One person tells the truth, one lies, and one actor speaks in silly riddles of nonsense. (randomize the order they introduce themselves) The bridges lead into a mineshaft dug into the mountain if you successfully cross them. -- Challenge 3: The Cursed Mines -- Gimmick: The mines were cursed by a witch, so you can't ask questions to the actors here, or the mine will collapse. As you enter, a sign with a skull on it says "ASK NO QUESTIONS". Important: Introduce…

Introduction

You wake up on the shores of a strange island, with lush forests and medieval stone castles dotting the landscape. Thanks to your extensive training in puzzles, you recognize that you have washed up on the land of knights that always tell the truth, and knaves that always lie. You need to get to the castle and get the king's help to get home safely! As you walk inland, you come across two men - one in silver armor, one in gold - guarding two paths that lead deep into the woods. Surely one leads to the castle, and the other to doom. But which is which? -- Challenge 1: The Two Paths -- The man in silver armor speaks first. "I am the knight." The man in gold armor shakes his head. "No, I am the knight. He is the knave."
